Our Client is a large pharmaceutical company headquartered in the United States, located in Buona Vista.

Scientist, Imaging Biomarkers (12months Contract / Pharmaceutical)

Job Purpose:
Our efforts in developing imaging biomarkers revolve around exploring promising science using a wide range of cutting-edge medical imaging platforms, including Digital Pathology, MRI, PET, Ultrasound and OCT. The scientist will work closely with colleagues from discovery biology, translational medicine and external vendors/collaborators to execute imaging biomarker studies. In this role, the scientist is responsible for managing study operations, vendor management, performing image processing and data analysis, interpretation and reporting. Job responsibilities:
  • Execute imaging biomarker study operations and coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors/collaborators to meet demanding discovery program timeline
  • Responsible for managing tissue sample shipment, sample tracking and monitoring study progress for digital pathology studies
  • Perform image and data analysis using image processing tools and deep learning/machine learning algorithms
  • Perform large data visualization, interpretation and report study results to help investigate disease biology and support drug discovery/development
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement in existing workflows to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency
  • Implement innovative image analysis tools, deep learning/machine learning algorithms and data visualization tools for addressing complex and challenging scientific questions
  • Contribute to authoring documentation related to image analysis workflow/pipeline, SOPs and develop QA/QC plans
  • Work closely with the study team to contribute to the development of project proposals and study designs
  • Maintenance and upkeep of laboratory computing equipment and software tools for imaging experiments
  • Accurate record-keeping for electronic lab notebooks, equipment logs, and research reports in compliance with regulatory and laboratory requirements
  • Presentation of research results, including the writing of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals


Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Computational Biology or the equivalent
Min 3years of relevant research experience in medical image processing and analysis.
  • Good foundation and hands-on experience with medical image analysis and processing in Matlab or Python
  • Experience in data analysis & visualization using Python (seaborn, matplotlib), R (ggplot2, corrplot)
  • Understanding in deep learning and/or machine learning (scikit-learn, pytorch, tensorflow)
  • Foundational understanding of biostatistics
  • Experience with high-performance computing & cloud computing environment is advantageous
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and digital pathology is a plus
  • Keen to learn drug discovery research, disease biology and biomarker development and qualification process
  • Keen interest in working in a research-intensive environment. Authorship in abstracts/publications is advantageous.

Salary: S$4000 - S$6000per month (Attractive remuneration package)
12months Renewable contract
