About Digital Industry Singapore (DISG)

The Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) office is a joint office comprising officers from EDB, ESG and IMDA. DISG will drive job creation, capability building, enterprise development and internationalization across key local and international digital enterprises.

The role of DISG will be to oversee Singapore’s efforts in industrializing digital, which is the building up of supply-side companies in the digital industry vertical. The work of digitalizing industries will be driven by the respective sector leads as part of the Industry Digitalization Plans.

Job Responsibilities
 

Account Management

• Serve as the main contact person from EDB for a portfolio of companies (e.g. Google, Alibaba, Facebook, SingTel, SAP, Stripe, Taiger, etc.)
• Cultivate strategic relationships and build trust with key company executives
• Develop deep understanding of clients’ multi-faceted needs and operations to implement and execute coherent client engagement strategies
• Lead the execution of projects and initiatives related to portfolios of companies
• Identify, negotiate and structure project opportunities to secure “win-win” outcomes for clients and Singapore
• Collaborate with other teams in EDB and in other parts of the Singapore Government for project development, related negotiations and smooth execution of end-to-end account management process
   

Industry Analysis and Strategy Development

• Lead/ undertake initiatives/ thematic analysis of emerging technology areas, such as AI, cybersecurity, talent, infrastructure, digital and sensing
• Formulate strategies and develop value propositions to champion for Singapore’s digital economy
• Co-develop, influence and provide input (where relevant) on policies or product/ service development to appropriate teams in EDB and/or rest of Singapore government on policies or product/ service development (e.g. in incentive design, trade policies)
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to co-create solutions and ideas to enable partnerships with different ecosystem players (e.g. companies, education institutions, government agencies etc.)
   

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:

• At least 3/5 years of relevant work experience; experience in technology sector, account management, business development and strategy development would be advantageous
• Keen interest in the digital industry with a strong desire to learn about and understand technological trends that influence the industry
• Strong conceptual & analytical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken; including ability and experience in engaging stakeholders
• Self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a team player
