The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, is responsible for strategies that enhance Singapore’s position as a global centre for business, innovation, and talent. We undertake investment promotion and industry development, and work with international businesses, both foreign and local, by providing information, connection to partners and access to government incentives for their investments. Our mission is to create sustainable economic growth, with vibrant business and good job opportunities for Singapore.

Lead/Senior Lead, Client Facilitation (Post-sales)

About the Investment Facilitation Team

The Investment Facilitation team fronts EDB’s engagement with existing and new customers, by assessing, supporting and facilitating investment projects into Singapore. This team interacts directly with companies across a range of industries and geographical regions, to attract new investments into Singapore.

The Client Facilitation (Post-Sales) role requires our officer to engage with EDB’s clients post-project securement, to monitor and support the successful implementation of their investment projects.

We are looking for a Lead/Senior Lead, Client Facilitation, who will attend to EDB customers’ post-sales requests, such as amendments of incentive awards, disbursements of grants and facilitation with government agencies on customers’ requests for assistance, so as to ensure that companies are able to operate competitively and continue to grow from Singapore.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the progress of companies’ investment projects by reviewing their progress reports and/or conducting site visits, and enabling the timely and accurate disbursement of grants to grant recipients. This will require close partnership with companies to verify the successful implementation of their investment projects, and with EDB’s Finance team to verify the grant disbursements
  • Reviewing and assessing companies’ requests for incentive amendments based on EDB’s internal policy guidelines and the companies’ progress in project implementation, to determine EDB’s level of support
  • Reviewing and assessing policy-governed requests from companies such as manpower and land related service requests based on EDB’s internal policy guidelines. This will require close collaboration with EDB’s Planning & Policy divisions and other government agencies to assess and accord the appropriate level of support to companies
  • From a policy perspective, the candidate will have the opportunity to partner with EDB’s Planning & Policy divisions across a range of specialisations such as tax policy and human capital development and/or other government agencies to optimise work processes and assessment criteria for different types of service facilitation requests

As the candidate progresses in seniority with sufficient exposure to client facilitation requests, there will be greater responsibilities in terms of coaching, management and client engagement on more complex requests, as well as developing scalable service standards for EDB to support our new and existing customers.

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (a degree in Accountancy and/or Business Management will be an advantage)
  • At least 1 year of working experience in client engagement related work. Prior experience in grant administration or policy formulation work will be desirable but not necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong in analytical thinking and decision making
  • Conscientious and able to attend to customers’ requests with accuracy and efficiency
  • Team player who can collaborate well with different stakeholders
  • Singaporean

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
