Industrial Relations Officer

You will face diverse challenges every day dealing with people from all walks of life, from influential employers to low wage workers. The work will be intense, meaningful and satisfying.
You will promote and build good industrial relations by working closely with union leaders, members and management partners, to achieve a harmonious industrial relations climate that will bring the maximum benefits to the workers. You will handle grievances, resolve conflicts and negotiate collective agreements to secure the welfare for the workers. In addition, you will advocate practices to help workers up-skill and enhance productivity, in order to earn better wages. You will have the opportunity to undertake research on labour-management issues that will impact at a company or national level.  You will also be expected to plan and organise membership promotion activities and union social events to expand the membership base for the union, as well as enhance the value of membership for union members.


  • Good degree in any discipline, with varying years of working experience

For those who join at mid-career, while you may start as a new IRO, your salary package will take into account your past working experience where relevant.
