Assistant Director/Manager - Community Engagement (Municipal Services Office)

The Municipal Services Office (MSO) was set up in October 2014 to work on improving the Government's overall coordination and delivery of municipal services. These services include the upkeep and improvement of the common living environment, such as the cleanliness and maintenance of the estates and the upgrading or provision of facilities and infrastructure.

As Assistant Director/Manager in the Community Engagement Division, you will be part of the team formulating, planning, and implementing communications and community engagement policies and programmes.

Responsibilities

You will play a key role in the formulation, planning and implementation of communications and community engagement policies and programmes of the Municipal Services Office.

You will work closely with diverse stakeholders, in communications and stakeholder engagement. This includes working with the government and private sectors, Advisers, Town Councils, Grassroots leaders and residents, to build the OneService community and support our public education messages. You will also staff policy proposals and meetings, organise events and workshops, participate in community events, and conduct training and briefings.

Requirements 

  • A degree and a strong command of the English language
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in community outreach
  • Excellent written, presentation, organisational¬†and project management skills
  • Keen analytical abilities
  • Effective inter-personal skills and ability to work with people of all levels
  • Team player who takes initiative and is able to manage teams and implement projects
  • Adept at networking and partnership management
  • Ability to work after office hours and on weekends, when necessary
  • Experience in marketing, research, behavioural insights, design thinking and/or data analytics will be an advantage
