The Autism Association (Singapore) is one of the Voluntary Welfare Organisations in Singapore, dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and helping them lead meaningful and quality lives in society.

Mission Statement: To initiate, organise and support provision of a broad spectrum at services for people with autism in Singapore. Such services to encompass education, vocational and life skills training and residential care.

AA(S) is an independent and expanding charity formed in Aug 1992 by a group of parents. In January 1995, it was registered as a charitable organisation under the Charities Act, Singapore. In July 1997, AA(S) was admitted as a member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). It was also granted the Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status, allowing the Association to issue tax-exempt receipts for public donations.

  • Adapts school and classroom environment, tools and materials for the purpose of improving student functioning and facilitating student access to curricular and instructional activities
  • Assesses students’ fine motor and development skills for purpose of determining their needs and develop recommendations
  • Implements therapeutic activities for providing appropriate care to students and/or support the student’s IEP plan for use in classrooms
  • Participates in collaborative consultation model to provide requested information, review/revise students’ occupational therapy goals, develop plans for services and make recommendations to implement goals
  • Maintenance of files/records, intervention equipments and supplies
  • Provide training, consultation, and instruction to teachers on the use of adaptive devices and equipment for the purpose of ensuring such devices are used appropriately and optimal benefits are achieved
  • Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students’ functional goals



  • Possess a Diploma / Degree / Post-graduate Qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Relevant working experience as an Occupational Therapist with children in a school or hospital setting is preferred
  • Evident proficiency in English Language
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Qualifies to be registered with the Allied Health Professional Council as a Full-time Registered Therapist
  • Desire to learn about Autism and expand knowledge base
  • Passion to work with young children and their families to maximize their talents and potential
